Okay, so in the spirit of not-exactly-about-WOM-blogs, which Keith seems to be spearheading... :-)
We spend a lot of time here at the Hive listening to music. I can't have a conversation without hitting the mute button first, my immediate boss, Matt, is totally unreachable when he's got his giant headphones on (you either have you use your discretion about the size of the object you're going to huck at him, or drop him an IM), and I explore other peoples' iTunes libraries only to retreat back into my happy land of college a cappella music, forever scarred by the horrors I've found there ("you listen to that all day?").
My point, though, is that I, courtesy of Greg, have discovered my new favorite thing in the world: pandora.com It's completely free, and I haven't gotten any of the ads that it says keep it afloat. You type in the name of a song or artist that you like, and it creates a 'station' based on that, telling you things like "Based on what you've told us so far, we're playing this track because it features electric rock instrumentation, a subtle use of vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation, mixed acoustic and electric instrumentation and major key tonality." You can thumbs-up or thumbs-down songs so it learns about your preferences, and you can save up to 100 stations that you can access from anywhere and share with people. It's amazingly good at what it does, and now I'm discovering new artists like crazy. Okay, I'm going to stop rambling now. Go explore!
